2018 Colloquium in Edinburgh to be a “Cochrane for all” event

Cochrane’s 2018 global conference will be held in Edinburgh between 16th-18th September, and organisers Cochrane UK are planning to make it a “patients included” event.

The Colloquium will continue to focus on the core goals of Cochrane’s “Strategy To 2020” – producing evidence, making evidence accessible, advocating for evidence and being an effective and sustainable organisation – but the overall theme will be “Cochrane for all – better evidence for better health decisions.”

Martin Burton, Cochrane UK’s Director, told Evidently Cochrane: “We propose to make the Colloquium 2018 a Patients Included event that is co-designed, co-produced and co-presented with healthcare consumers, an event where everyone’s input is valued equally.

“We have been asked why our focus is on patients, when Cochrane has many stakeholders. We believe that all stakeholders ultimately share the same goal – better health for patients, and that we can best achieve this by working together.”
